Four women—friends for years—gather at one of their homes to celebrate her birthday. The hostess has an unexpected gift for them: Xerxes.
This play explores themes such as friendship, female sexuality in mature age, loneliness, and the passage of time. Each woman carries a past filled with unfulfilled dreams and joyful memories that now only linger, yet they remain alive—ready for change, for a new adventure, a dream that could illuminate their present and future.
The male character, bearing the pompous name Alcibiades Gemistos, is the salesman of Xerxes. He is a lonely man, very different from the image the company has instructed him to portray to clients. His meeting with the women will irreversibly change his life too.
