“Nautodia” – Pericles Kanaris

Composer and performer Pericles Kanaris is recognized as one of the most important ambassadors of Greek music in the diaspora. Through his multifaceted work in Europe and the U.S., he uniquely bridges Greek sound and poetry with international musical trends.
In this concert, Kanaris presents a new cycle of songs titled Nautodia — an ode to Greek seamanship. The music is based on newly written poems as well as lyrics by prominent Greek poets and personal stories from members of the Greek maritime “family.”

The program will also include beloved songs on the same theme, originally composed by well-known Greek composers, reinterpreted through Kanaris’s unique orchestration.
