The International Festival of the Aegean is held annually on the island of Syros. It is a multidisciplinary program of events that combines opera productions, chamber music, and lyrical singing.
This year’s Festival is dedicated to its founder, Peter Tiboris, who passed away suddenly in the fall of 2024. It was 20 years ago that he launched the Festival by conducting Rossini’s The Barber of Seville.
To honor Peter, we will return to Rossini, and also present works by more of his favorite composers in concerts and full opera productions.
The Festival features renowned classical ensembles, conductors, dance troupes, choirs, and groups from some of the world’s greatest opera houses.
This year’s program includes performances such as The Barber of Seville by Rossini, Elektra by Strauss, among others.
